Sentinel

The planned replacement for the Minuteman weapons system, initially called the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD), was named Sentinel in April 2022. On 8 September 2020, Northrop Grumman was awarded the $13.3 billion contract to develop the new ICBM weapons system, projected for deployment from around 2029 until 2075, using the three current Minuteman wings and their support bases in Montana, North Dakota, and Wyoming.
